[Fixed] - GTA 5 crashes on startup

For me GTA 5 crashes on startup after downloading the retail CD version by using Rockstar Social Club.
After the start of "PlayGTAV.exe" in the GTA 5 folder Rockstar Social Club loads without any problems.
I can log into my account and the cloud saves (if activated) are replicated. After that Social Club
starts to load GTA 5 and closes normally. Then GTA 5 opens a black DirectX window and I see the
following error message:



In this dialog I can only choose "Close program".

Inisde the file "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\launcher.log" we see the following
warnings and errors:

Pay attention that these errors can change on different systems, but it could be related to the same
problem. In my case the error was raised directly after the latest update of GTA 5 with version number
1.0.1032.1 during regular CD retail version install. Inside the GTA 5 directory there is a folder named
"update". In my case there was an empty file named "update.rpf" present in this folder which caused the
above errors. To solve the problem simply delete the file "update.rpf" and also rename the file "GTA5.exe"
in the game directory. After that start "PlayGTAV.exe" and it will download the correct "update.rpf"
and "GTA5.exe" again. During the download a file named "GTA_V_Patch_1_0_1032_1.exe" is created inside
the directory "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Temp". The update fails if there is not enough free
space on drive C:, no matter where your install location for GTA 5 is. After the update fails we see
the following error in the file "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\launcher.log":

Btw I also did try the "-verify" parameter, but it didn't help at all. The best solution is to free space
on drive C: or change the TMP directory location to another drive. I myself did copy the updater file
"GTA_V_Patch_1_0_1032_1.exe" to another drive and started it from there. After a successful update the
"update.rpf" file has a size of 701.820.928 bytes.

Last Words:
In my opinion it looks like a severe coding bug to not check for the free avaiable drive space, but
what have you expected? Maybe they will fix this bug in the future, but I doubt it!

There are issues installing GTA since years, Rockstars seems to prefer releasing the 100th new game mode, instead of focusing on fixing bugs, dealing with cheaters...
